Build a company. Then run it.

An original ERP you set up from an empty system, in your browser. Every screen explains itself. Every document reaches the books.

Three chapters

Build it. Run it. Investigate it.

Build

Chart of accounts, company code, plant, selling and buying. Eleven stages, one task at a time, and a map that fills in as you go.

Run

Plan, buy, make, sell, ship, bill, collect, pay, close. Every document links to the next and lands in the journal.

Investigate

Seal kits hit the reorder point. A payment is overdue. Find the cause across modules, fix it, and decide where AI should help.

Orchestrate Lab

Build a manufacturer from an empty system: what this lab is, and what it isn't

Practice ERP configuration without a system to log in to. Set up a fictional pump maker from its company code onward, then run a month end to end: plan, buy, make, sell, ship, bill, collect, pay and close. Every screen explains what you are creating, how it connects across the business, and where AI fits.

The lab is an original teaching model written for this site. It is not SAP software, doesn't connect to any SAP system, and doesn't reproduce SAP screens, menus, transaction codes, code or delivered configuration. It uses the general business concepts that SAP S/4HANA and other ERP systems share (company code, plant, sales area, account determination, three-way match) so that practice here carries over.

It is simplified on purpose: one company code, calendar months, one sales tax rate, no intercompany, no warehouse tasks. All codes, keys, numbers, rates and the company Calder Pumpworks, its customers and suppliers are fictional course labels, not SAP standard values. Settings in a real system vary by release and by customer.

Your lab is saved in this browser only. Export it to keep a copy or move it to another device.

  • Stuck? Read the error: most name the setting that is missing and offer a button to open it.
  • Want to skip ahead? Each stage has a Do this stage for me button that completes it, and every stage before it, with the course values.
  • Made a mess? Use Undo for the last action, or Reset to start again.

The short notes that compare a lab setting with SAP S/4HANA come from these pages, opened when the lab was written (2026-10-28).
